Misiorowski Unleashes Another Record-Breaking Fastball

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski has once again demonstrated his exceptional power on the mound, shattering his own record for the fastest pitch ever thrown by a starting pitcher. This latest display of raw velocity comes just weeks after he recorded an MLB-best 104.5 mph against Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies.

The remarkable feat occurred during a recent matchup against the Chicago Cubs. As is often the case with pitchers known for high velocity, Misiorowski appeared to be at his most potent early in the game. Batting leadoff for the Cubs was center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong.

A New Mark Established on the Diamond

On an 0-2 count, Crow-Armstrong fouled off a pitch that registered on the scorebug as 105 mph. Official readings later confirmed the pitch’s velocity at an astounding 105.5 mph. This extraordinary pitch now ties Misiorowski with Ben Joyce of the Los Angeles Angels, who also recorded a 105.5 mph pitch in 2024.

The pursuit of baseball’s fastest pitches continues, with Aroldis Chapman of the Boston Red Sox holding the top two spots in recorded velocity, having thrown pitches at 105.7 mph and 105.8 mph.

The Future of Pitching Velocity

Misiorowski’s consistent ability to push the boundaries of pitching speed suggests that the record books may need frequent updates. Analysis of his performance indicates that with continued training and conditioning, he may well possess the potential to throw even faster in the future, potentially challenging the all-time marks set by relievers.
