NYC Manhunt: Suspect Linked to Deadly Shootings in Bronx and Brooklyn
Authorities in New York City are actively searching for Jesus Acosta, a 31-year-old man accused of carrying out two fatal shootings just days apart in the Bronx and Brooklyn. The NYPD has identified Acosta as the primary suspect in a violent crime spree that has shaken two of the city’s boroughs.
Bronx Deli Shooting and Robbery
The latest incident occurred early Tuesday morning, around 12:16 a.m., at 149 Grill & Deli, located at 143 East 149th Street in the Bronx. According to police reports, a gunman, believed to be Acosta, approached a 33-year-old man inside the establishment and fired multiple shots, striking the victim in the chest. Following the shooting, the assailant forcibly took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before fleeing the scene.
The victim was transported to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries later on Tuesday, prompting authorities to reclassify the incident as a homicide. Acosta is also sought in connection with a separate fatal shooting that took place in Brooklyn shortly after midnight on Sunday. In this attack, a 44-year-old man was killed, and another 39-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.
Responding officers found the two victims after receiving a 911 call reporting an assault in progress. Both men were taken to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. The 44-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 39-year-old was reported to be in stable condition.

The NYPD has released a detailed description of Jesus Acosta, urging the public to come forward with any information regarding his whereabouts. He is described as a male, approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing around 175 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes.
