Intruder Crashes Through Beyoncé & Jay-Z’s East Hampton Gate

A man identified as Keith Jonathan Webster, 63, of the Bronx, faces felony and misdemeanor charges after crashing his vehicle through the front gate of the East Hampton residence belonging to music power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z on Wednesday afternoon. The incident, which occurred around 2:45 PM, resulted in significant damage to the wooden gate, according to an official police report.

Gate Breach and Arrest Details

Witnesses reported seeing Webster driving at a high speed directly up the driveway before colliding with and breaching the gate. Police responded to the scene and subsequently arrested Webster. He has been charged with criminal mischief in the second degree, a felony, and criminal trespass in the third degree, a misdemeanor.

During the processing of his arrest, Webster indicated he had sustained an injury. He was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital for treatment. Following his release from the hospital, Webster was returned to police custody.

Legal Proceedings and Investigation

Webster appeared for his arraignment on Thursday before Justice Steven Tekulsky. During the court appearance, he was described as appearing disoriented. As a result, Justice Tekulsky issued a stay-away order of protection, prohibiting Webster from contacting Beyoncé or Jay-Z. Furthermore, Webster was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital’s mental health facility for an evaluation.

Detective Sergeant Jennifer Dunn stated that Webster’s motive for crashing through the gate remains under investigation. She also confirmed that, according to information obtained by the East Hampton Press, Webster does not have a prior criminal record.

Vehicle and Ongoing Inquiry

Webster’s vehicle, which was involved in the incident, has been impounded and is being held as evidence as the investigation continues. It remains unclear whether Beyoncé and Jay-Z were present at their East Hampton home at the time of the intrusion.

The incident highlights the security concerns that often accompany high-profile residences. While the specific circumstances and motivations behind Webster’s actions are still being examined, the event underscores the challenges of maintaining privacy and security for public figures.

The legal process will now unfold, with Webster facing charges related to property damage and trespassing. The stay-away order aims to ensure the safety and peace of mind of the homeowners. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses and Webster undergoes his mental health evaluation.

This event serves as a reminder of the constant vigilance required in managing security for celebrity estates, where unexpected breaches can occur. The authorities are committed to a thorough investigation to understand the full scope of the incident.
