A real estate firm in Mississippi has terminated its association with an independent contractor after a video circulating online showed him confronting a father in a gas station’s women’s restroom. The footage captured the man scolding a father for bringing his two young daughters into the facility.

Overstreet Properties, based in Starkville, Mississippi, issued a statement acknowledging the widely shared video. The firm emphasized that the behavior depicted does not align with their company values or the professional standards expected of their representatives. The company reiterated its commitment to providing quality service to its clients, partners, and the community, and confirmed that it is no longer working with the individual in question.
The Incident Unfolds
The video was recorded by Tyler Brodsky, who was traveling with his daughters. The incident occurred at a QuikTrip in Alabama when Brodsky took his daughters into the women’s restroom. According to Brodsky, he announced his entry with his children, finding the restroom empty. Shortly after, the contractor approached and vocally objected, insisting Brodsky should have used the men’s room. Brodsky disagreed, stating his discomfort with taking his young daughters into a men’s restroom.
Witnesses observed the contractor standing in the restroom doorway, continuing his verbal reprimand as Brodsky assisted his daughters with washing their hands. The contractor was also heard speaking on his phone, reportedly relaying that his wife and mother-in-law had alerted him to a man in the women’s restroom. The distressing encounter left one of Brodsky’s daughters visibly upset.
A QuikTrip manager intervened, closing the door on the contractor and offering an apology to Brodsky and his children. Brodsky later shared that police officers arrived at the scene and confirmed he had not acted improperly. He recounted the experience as frightening for his daughters but assured that they are now doing well.
