Country music star Kane Brown is expressing profound gratitude for his well-being following a severe golfing incident that necessitated hospital treatment. On Tuesday, Brown shared a series of candid images on social media, illustrating the startling nature of his injury.
A Painful Slice
Initially posting a photo of his ear, Brown captioned it, “Shot in the head by a golf ball.” He followed up with another image, highlighting the stitches, and lightheartedly remarked, “Just a scratch.” However, he tempered the humor with a serious note, adding, “That said, it will prob get worse next 48 hours but I’m alive and that’s all that matters … holy crap.”
In a video shared on TikTok, where traces of blood were visible on his shirt, Brown elaborated on the unexpected turn of events. He clarified that the errant golf ball did not travel from a distant fairway. “No, this one, it was my own buddy,” he explained, emphasizing that he wouldn’t name names but wanted his friend to know he was recovering. “He feels terrible, but he needs to know that I’m good.”
Medical Attention and Recovery
Brown detailed his hospital visit, stating, “I had a split ear and some swelling.” He estimated the ball’s speed at “about a 150 to 180 mile an hour ball, a three-wood slice.” He added, “We already hit our drives … I’m just glad I’m here.”
His wife, Katelyn, provided further context on Wednesday, explaining the ball’s proximity at the moment of impact. “This wasn’t a golf ball that had been flying through the air and had been losing momentum. He was right off the side from it,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “It could have been so much worse.”
Relief washed over the couple following medical evaluations. “We got great news after his CT scans — nothing internally, no skull fractures — this was just all basically external with a minor concussion. We were so relieved.”
Concert Cancellation
Due to the unexpected injury, Brown was unable to perform at the Tight End University concert in Nashville on Tuesday, June 23.
