The first notable call to appear was from “Diplo.” Perry’s response was immediate and decisive; she repeatedly tapped the “Decline” button on the prop phone, then turned away with a nervous gesture. Perry had a brief dalliance with the DJ in 2014, reportedly linking up at Coachella during a pause in her relationship with John Mayer. Notably, in a 2017 appearance on “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” Perry had humorously ranked Diplo third among her exes for bedroom performances, a ranking Diplo later playfully acknowledged on social media, claiming a “bronze medal in the sex Olympics.”
Next, a contact labeled “JM” appeared, widely interpreted as a nod to John Mayer, whom Perry dated intermittently between 2012 and 2015. For this call, Perry initially walked away before turning back, holding up her hand in a gesture of refusal and backing away from the phone.
The sequence continued with a call from “OB,” an apparent reference to her former fiancé, Orlando Bloom. Perry wagged her finger dismissively and struck a pose, indicating yet another rejected advance. Perry and Bloom were together for nearly a decade after their initial meeting in 2016. Following a split in 2017, they reconciled the following year and announced their engagement in 2019. The couple, who share a 5-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, ultimately ended their relationship in June 2025.
A Warm Welcome for Justin Trudeau
The performance concluded with a distinctly different reception for her current partner. After the exes’ calls were systematically ignored, a new caller named “JPJT” appeared on the screen, accompanied by emojis of the Canadian flag and a red heart. This designation is understood to refer to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. With evident enthusiasm, Perry emphatically selected the “Accept” button as the song reached its end, drawing cheers from the audience.
Romance Publicly Affirmed
Romance rumors between Perry and Trudeau first surfaced in July 2025 after they were seen dining together in Montréal. Shortly thereafter, Trudeau attended one of Perry’s concerts in Canada. The couple publicly confirmed their relationship in December 2025. In an interview at the event, Perry spoke glowingly of her relationship with Trudeau, telling People magazine, “I feel like a more grounded person in so many aspects of my life. I am very in love. And actually, that show was after I met the love of my life, and so I felt very anchored by that, because I’m a little bit like a rainbow kite. I fly super high and touch the veil… cosmos… and sometimes I need to be anchored. So, to have that anchor finally makes me feel really whole now.”
The couple was recently observed sharing affectionate moments during a picnic in Santa Barbara, California, ahead of their upcoming one-year anniversary.
