Graphic Evidence Emerges in Frisco Track Meet Stabbing Case

New images have surfaced, offering a stark look at the fatal injury sustained by Austin Metcalf during a confrontation at a Texas high school track meet. The visual evidence, released by Collin County court following Karmelo Anthony’s conviction for first-degree murder earlier this month, includes depictions of the wound and the immediate aftermath of the fatal stabbing.

Among the documents made public are photographs of a blood-stained jacket and the folding Ozark Trail multi-tool knife identified by prosecutors as the weapon used in the attack. The images also show David Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas, the site of the tragic incident on April 2, 2025. These newly unveiled trial exhibits, presented to jurors, encompass crime scene photographs, details of the knife, 911 call transcripts, and police body-camera footage.

Body Camera Footage Captures Arrest and Defendant’s Account

The body-camera video provides a glimpse into the moments after Anthony, who was 17 at the time of the incident, was taken into custody. In the footage, Anthony can be heard stating to officers, “He put his hands on me. I told him not to. He put his hands on me.”

Prosecutors contend that Anthony used the knife to stab Metcalf after Metcalf and his brother approached him. The confrontation reportedly began when Anthony was found sitting in the opposing team’s tent at Memorial High School. While Anthony admitted to the stabbing, he maintained that his actions were in self-defense.

Sentencing and Aftermath

This month, Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the stabbing. The conviction has prompted significant discussion among Anthony’s supporters regarding the composition of the jury. He will be eligible for parole after serving half of his sentence.
