Republican Congressman Tom Tiffany has clinched the nomination for Wisconsin governor, positioning himself for a November showdown against a progressive state representative. The Associated Press confirmed Tiffany’s victory in the Republican primary on Tuesday, where he defeated medical service technician Andy Manske. “I’m not defunding the police, not abolishing police. I am serious about public safety,” Hong asserted during a recent voter engagement event. She also addressed resurfaced comments from 2020 suggesting the country should “cancel Thanksgiving” to avoid “celebrating colonialism.” Following public reaction, Hong clarified that Thanksgiving is now her “favorite holiday” and told reporters that she has “evolved” and “learned” since making those remarks.
